What do you need help with right now?

Meet Brendan
Brendan is the face of Scalesight CPA and the voice in our short videos on tax planning, clean books and exit readiness. His message is simple: your CPA should help you plan what happens next, not just report what already happened.
When you apply for a free Growth Audit, a CPA-led team reviews your books, cash flow and current tax approach, then gives you a written action plan you can use with or without us.
- Business and personal tax under one roof
- Year-round planning, not just tax season
- Fixed scope agreed in writing
Be honest: do you know your numbers?
- Do you know how much profit you made last month?
- Can you see your cash runway today, not 60 days from now?
- Do you know which services, products or locations make money and which lose it?
- Did anyone talk to you about tax strategy before December 31?
If the answer to any of these is no, you do not have a finance function yet. You have a tax preparer and a bookkeeper. That works until the business grows, and then it starts costing you.

If you're a successful business owner doing at least a million dollars per year, you'd never keep an employee who costs you more than they bring in. So why are you okay with that from your tax accountant?
Your accountant is effectively on your leadership team. They see all your numbers, they know every entity, they know every major purchase.
Your tax person should be a profit center. They design when and how you buy assets. They choose structures that lower your effective rate.
We run a top-to-bottom review under today's rules, and we show you where you're overpaying, which moves you can still make this year, and how much of your accountant's fee could be covered by actual strategy instead of compliance.
We built a system around the new "beautiful" tax rules that hunts for missed deductions, better structures, and asset purchases you can make with money you are going to send to the IRS anyway.
In our process, we map what you're paying now, what you should be paying with correct structures and timing, and what that gap looks like over the next few years. So you can see if your current accountant is earning their keep.

Why owners choose Scalesight

Meet Brendan. He is the face of Scalesight CPA and the voice in our short videos. Every Growth Audit is CPA-led and ends with a written plan you can use with or without us.
CPA-led
Tax preparation, books and CFO work are led and reviewed by a CPA, not handed to a call center.
Built for $1M to $30M
Our process is designed for owner-led companies that have outgrown a basic tax preparer.
One team
The people who close your books also plan your taxes and prepare your returns, so nothing gets lost between firms.
Fixed scope in writing
You know what is included and what it costs before work starts.
Frequently asked questions
Who does Scalesight CPA work with?
Owner-led companies with roughly $1M to $30M in annual revenue that want business tax preparation, accounting and CFO-level planning from one team. Many are in San Diego County, and we also work with growing businesses across the U.S.
What is the free Growth Audit?
A focused review of your recent financial statements, cash flow, profitability and current tax approach. You receive a scalability readiness scorecard and a written action plan, whether or not you decide to work with us.
Do you prepare both business and personal tax returns?
Yes. Business tax preparation is our core service, and we prepare personal returns for business owners with complex situations so K-1 income, estimated payments and state taxes are coordinated.
What is the difference between your CFO service and bookkeeping?
Bookkeeping records and reconciles transactions. Our fractional CFO service uses those numbers to forecast cash, track KPIs, plan pricing and hiring, and prepare for financing or a sale.
How do I switch accountants mid-year?
We request your prior returns and accounting file, review the books, and take over from the next open period. Your previous accountant does not need to do anything beyond providing records you are entitled to.
